Christie Oclaray

Vice President of Human Resources

As Vice President of Human Resources, Christie brings more than 25 years of human resources experience to Chartwell Hospitality, where she is a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team and guides its Manager-in-Training and Emerging Leaders programs. Chris is responsible for the overall delivery of the firm’s human resources services, policies and programs, including its HR and Payroll compliance audits and HRIS and Learning & Development Systems implementations and management.

Prior to joining Chartwell Hospitality, Chris was Director of Human Resources for Carlex Glass America, among human resources leadership positions; and was a Lecturer at the University of Hawaii-Leeward Community College. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

A former Mrs. Hawaii United States, Chris is extremely active in hospitality industry, professional development and community affairs, having served on the AHLA HR Committee; the University Memphis Hospitality Advisory Board; the Society of Human Resource Management; and United Way, to name a few.

An avid Tennessee Titans football fan, Chris loves to explore new places, cultures and experiences, while also pursuing fitness activities that include Pilates and “walking for hours” when exploring a new area.
