Franklin developers amass huge, prime site in $20M deal with Vanderbilt

That crossroads is the bull’s-eye of the real estate boom coursing through the Cool Springs commercial hub. At that same intersection is the Ovation mixed-use development, veteran office developer Pat Emery’s Franklin Park corporate campus, and Bigby, a proposed mixed-use project from Charlotte-based Crescent Communities. As seen on our Williamson Watch map, those three developments combined carry a potential price tag of more than $1.5 billion and are planned to feature company headquarters, hotels, apartments and townhomes, and a slew of retail and restaurant offerings.

The land involved in Friday’s deal is where Vanderbilt’s medical system once envisioned a $200 million medical complex. Vanderbilt tabled the plan in 2013 amid budget woes and never revived it.
