Developer stamps presence in HQ hub with $71M Marriott purchase

The former, a 244-room Hilton, and the latter, the 300-room Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, mean that Chartwell Hospitality officially owns two of the four largest hotels in Greater Nashville’s corporate headquarters hub. Chartwell developed the Hilton (NYSE: HLT) itself and bought the Marriott (Nasdaq: MAR) from Dallas-based Crow Holdings, according to public records.

The consecutive deals mean that Franklin-based Chartwell now owns 30 percent of the hotel rooms in its home county and about 2,800 rooms around the region. In an interview, Schaedle said it’s about more than just the numbers.
