Chartwell Hospitality exploring project for corner of Cool Springs Boulevard and Carothers Parkway
A Franklin-based developer is exploring plans for what's being called the Meridian Hilton Hotel for the northwest corner of Cool Springs Boulevard and Carothers Parkway.
On behalf of Chartwell Hospitality, engineering firm Littlejohn last week submitted plans with the Franklin Planning Commission for pre-application review.
The property Chartwell has under contract is part of an overall 21-acre site Boyle Investment Co. owns, which includes where the One and Two Meridian office buildings sit in Cool Springs. Meridian Hilton Hotel is expected to sit between those buildings.
On Tuesday night, Franklin's Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously approved Boyle's request to apply the height overlay for its Meridian development to the 21-acre site. The height overlay allows for buildings up to 12 stories provided they're in the same context of the existing structures in the area.
If approved, the Meridian Hilton Hotel would be Chartwell's latest property in the Cool Springs market. The company's portfolio includes the Courtyard Franklin Cool Springs and Residence Inn Franklin Cool Springs.
Elsewhere in Middle Tennessee, Chartwell plans a 124-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel for Berry Farms in south Franklin and was picked as co-developer of a 146,900-square-foot Hilton and a 90,110-square-foot Residence Inn hotel in Green Hills.
Chartwell President Rob Schaedle couldn't be reached for comment. The hotel development and management company acquires, develops and manages limited-service and full-service hotels.
